Buckle Up Bumper Sticker

In every motor vehicle accident, there are actually two collisions: the first one is the impact of the vehicle, and the second is the "human collision". If a car traveling 40 mph collides with a stationary object, the human collision will take place at the same velocity.

This is why unbelted occupants of cars are so much more seriously injured than belted occupants. Imagine what it feels like to bang your chest against a steering wheel, or your head against a windshield -- at 40 mph! While that might not seem pleasant, ejection from a vehicle is even worse. The fact is that three quarters of occupants who are ejected from passenger cars are killed.

The best way to limit the human collision and protect against ejection is with a seatbelt. For example in 1995, only 2% of restrained passenger car occupants were ejected following an auto accident, as compared to 25% of unrestrained occupants. Research has show that lap & shoulder belts, when used properly, reduce the risk of fatal injury to front seat passenger car occupants by 45%, and the risk of moderate critical injury by 50%.

The proper use of seatbelts is estimated to save 9,500 lives each year. Put simply: Seatbelts Work. So the bottom line is, every time you get into a vehicle, "BUCKLE UP!".

The City of South San Francisco is seeking to give away a beautiful, historic duplex home - replete with a white picket fence – located at 323 Miller Avenue. The home is currently located on the site where a new parking structure will be built. Potential homeowners must be able to provide a plot of land for the home. The house used to be a single family home but was turned into two one-bedroom units. The future home-owner may turn the residence back into a two bedroom if they wish. The city is willing to move the house within a reasonable distance and pay for a foundation. Open house events will be held on June 27th from 5:30 to 7:30 and June 28th from 11-1. Since I posted this I have received the game I requested in the mail today (In near perfect condition like the others!)

I have heard this offer will end after April, hopefully they will bring it back though, this is a great service.
